How Can severe Tightness In The Upper Chest Be Treated?

I feel like I have mucus stuck in the back of my throat and cannot do anything to get rid of it. I also feel like my upper chest is very tight. I use an inhaler once in awhile and that does not even seem to help. Is there something I can take to help, as it obviously feels like congestion, but no other cold symptoms. I am convinced that I am suffering from allergies. I also want to mention that my doctor has me taking 2 Zyrtecs everyday for skin rashes I have been experience for the last few months. The skin rashes have cleared but know I have this throat and upper chest problem

Hi welcome to the health care magic

You are having history of usage of inhaler and cetrizine for skin allergy

Hence here you can have acute allergic bronchitis or asthma problem...

I will recommend following investigation for your case.....
-CBC
-Auscultation
-Spirometry
(spirometry help in deciding further management plan)

Mostly as I can see your case, your AEC means eosinophil will come high and you will need to prescribe montelukast and fexofenedine course

If AEC normal and congestion seems very severe short term steroid can be prescribed

If CBC shows neutrophilia with high total count (chance less) then for bacterial infection antibiotic given

Take care

Hence consult pulmonologoist for examination and get your treatment done

For allergic problem later on you can Consult allergy specialist for rule out allergen causing allergy and immunotherapy can be given as per need

Hope your concern solved
